Genesis Golf Link Cup Pro Tip: Drop a Round
Golf is a hard game, and sometimes you are going to have a round you would rather forget about.
The Genesis Golf Link Cup is committed to rewarding golfers of all abilities for their good performance, and we won’t let one bad round stop us!
Each series in 2017, you can ‘Drop A Round’. This means that you can eliminate one and only one round from your score if it’s going to hold you back from being competitive.
To Drop A Round, head to your Member Profile page and click the red Drop A Round button next to the appropriate score you wish to wipe off.
However, be careful – you only get one opportunity and there’s no going back once you have submitted the round to be dropped.
- You can only drop ONE round per series
- You must drop the round by the end of the next competition week.
Example: If you wanted to drop a round that was played on Monday of Week 6, you would have until Sunday of Week 7 (competition weeks run from Monday to Sunday).
- There are no take-backs so be careful.
Here are some situations where using the Drop A Round feature could be beneficial to your Genesis Golf Link Cup score.
- Scenario: You have had a good month, except for one round in the final two weeks.
If you are close to winning a Monthly or Overall prize, this is a great chance to wipe off a bad score.
- Scenario: You’re close to beating a playing partner in the overall standings.
Who doesn’t like bragging rights over their mates? Just make sure you don’t use it too early in the series – your worst round in Week 5, might not be your worst by Week 10.
